Brush Controls: Size, Intensity & Blending
Your vanity toolbar features three vital sliders that control how pigment lays down on your avatar’s canvas:
- Size Slider:
- Small (5% – 15%): Use for ultra-fine strokes like individual eyebrow hairs, razor-sharp wing tips, and faux freckles.
- Medium (25% – 45%): Perfect for defining the crease, smudging outer-V shadow, and applying lip contours.
- Large (60% – 90%): Ideal for broad, soft foundation washes, temple bronzer, and high-impact cheek blush.
- Intensity & Opacity: Lowering intensity to 30% allows you to blend multiple colors seamlessly. Never paint with 100% opacity when creating smokey eyes or blush—feather multiple light passes for that airbrushed salon glow!
- The Eraser & Undo: Found at the bottom of the tool rail. Keep your thumb close to Undo (
Ctrl+Zor the back arrow) for instant line corrections.
Color Palette Picking & Skin Tone Matching
One of the biggest runway pitfalls is applying harsh makeup that does not harmonize with your avatar’s skin undertone.
- Sample Your Base First: Use the eyedropper to sample your avatar’s forehead skin color.
- Formulating Natural Contours: Move your color wheel slightly down toward a cooler, desaturated brown. This creates a realistic nose bridge contour and cheek shadow without looking muddy or orange.
- Highlighter Placement: Sample your skin tone, shift the brightness toward pure white or pale gold, and drop the brush opacity to 25%. Dab softly on the tip of the nose, cupid's bow, and inner eye corners.
Drawing Symmetrical Eyebrows Freehand
Since default Roblox faces often lack high-fashion brows, drawing them freehand is essential for elevated looks:
- Enable Mirror Mode: Always verify that the Mirror Symmetry icon is active before drawing your first stroke.
- Map Three Guide Points:
- Point A (Inner Brow): Aligned with the inner corner of the eye.
- Point B (Arch): Aligned with the outer edge of the iris.
- Point C (Tail): Tapered toward the temple, slightly above the outer eye corner.
- Feather Individual Hair Strokes: Set brush size to 8% and intensity to 70%. Make short, upward flicking motions rather than a single solid block.
- Conceal & Carve: Switch to your base skin color with a small brush to "clean up" the bottom edge of the brow for that carved, microbladed perfection.
Mirror Tool Pitfalls & Accidental Line Cleanup
Mirror mode is your best friend for eyeliner and blush, but it can turn into a nightmare if left unchecked:
- The Accidental Stray Line: If you drag your brush across the canvas boundary while Mirror is on, a phantom line will appear across the opposite temple or ear. Hit Undo immediately instead of trying to manually erase it with a large brush.
- Asymmetric Details (Tattoos, Beauty Marks & Scars): When a round theme calls for a single teardrop gem, an asymmetric cyber marking, or a cute heart under the left eye, turn Mirror mode OFF first.
- Accidental Canvas Bleed: If your eyeliner accidentally touches the inner eye corner and colors the eyeball, use a high-opacity eraser with minimum brush size to trim the boundary cleanly.
